The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax assistance to eligible taxpayers who need help preparing their tax returns.
Help your neighbors You can help taxpayers in your community claim the tax credits they are eligible for, allowing them to keep more of what they have earned.
No prior experience is needed. The VITA program welcomes people from all backgrounds, ages, and experience levels to better accommodate the diverse needs of those served.
Flexible hours. The VITA program provides services from mid-to-late January through mid-April, with volunteers serving an average of three to five hours per week.
Free training and materials. Volunteers receive free specialized tax law training and materials to become IRS-certified and able to serve in a variety of roles.
TRAINING will be conducted via ZOOM on November 20, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and December 4, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (both days include a 30-minute lunch break).
