Goodwill is more than a store. According to John Owen, president & CEO for Goodwill, “most people are unaware that when they shop and donate at Goodwill, they become job-creators.  The revenue generated from sales goes towards funding Goodwill’s mission services that include job training and employment opportunities for people such as those with disabilities, veterans, or ex-offenders.”

According to Rachel Loera vice president for Goodwill, “Goodwill believes in the power of work, and that through work many social issues can be resolved.  Our stores and donation stations exist to give people in need a hand-up rather than a hand-out.  Over the last five years, Goodwill served over 27,000 South Texans through training, job placement and support services.
